(Watonga, OK) WORTHGROUP Architects & Designers in association with New Fire Native Design Group were honored to take part in the recent celebratory groundbreaking event held for the new Lucky Star Casino Watonga Hotel & Convention Center.
As the first Hotel for the Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribes, this event was a special moment for the Tribe, the Watonga community and everyone involved on the project. “This new expansion will greatly benefit and enhance the community for gaming and future development which should attract many players, visitors and help spur economic development in the local area.”
– Governor Reggie Wassana
The Lucky Star Casino expansion will include a new five story hotel that will accommodate 80 guest rooms, an increased gaming floor, a conference center with up to a 300 person capacity, a full service restaurant, retail and other offerings to attract guests and visitors alike. This exciting new resort has an anticipated grand opening in Summer of 2020.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this project for the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes. Working with New Fire Native Design Group, we are honored to carefully integrate the Tribes’ ancestry into the spirit of the design, representing its past, present, and exciting future. We look forward to this being the first of many projects for our collaborative team.” – Bryan Hamlin, Partner, Chief Design Officer, WORTHGROUP Architects & Designers.
The Lucky Star Hotel will be an iconic building that will translate the ancestry of the Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribes, while serving as a catalyst to inspire additional growth and development for the Watonga community.
